First off, you wont get it by screaming "I WANNA PROMOTION!" to the Sigillites or Grand Sigillite. Blackmail too will get you nowhere (except out of the guild.

maybe. Depending on who it's on. But it still wont get you promoted!)
At the request of several members, I've written a short guide explaining how the bollocky you can get yourself promoted. Keep in mind though that there is no "fast-track" to Sigillitedom. More on that below. Enjoy.
PROMOTION AND ADVANCEMENT WITHIN THE ORDAI VICE
Advice and Requirements
Item 1: Sigillites.Sigillites will not be elected on a whim. The number of available sigillite spots changes with the size of the guild. At present, the number of sigillites is determined on a roughly 1:10 ratio; that is, one sigillite for every ten members.
At this time there are four sigillites accompanying and aiding the grand sigillite: Primorc, Meralath, Lukastin, and Jessyra.
Open or prospective sigillite spots will not be posted in this thread, but in the Ordai Vice lounge
by the grand sigillite only. Anyone else who claims that there is an open Sigillite spot is incorrect and the post will be deleted as misinformation.
The reason for such tightness around the office of sigillites is sheerly that they are the second-to-most powerful members of the guild, and for this reason great care and attention is put into their elections. Sigillites are in turn obliged to act with the fairness and best interests of the guild in mind AT ALL TIMES.
Just so that you know that once you have the slot, dont mean its yours forever.
Sigillites are elected by the Grand Sigillite alone, in conjunction with the existing Sigillites. Members must first attain the rank of Vindicator before they can even consider becoming a sigillite. Furthermore, whilst any member may ask the grand sigillite for consideration, such requests do not guarantee action. Put simply, if there isn't room, no new sigillites will be elected unless one of the existing sigillites isnt doing their job correctly - this will be decided by the GS.
In short, the only way in is Dead Man's Boots. But dont think it's corrupt elitism - the GS is charged with the office of leadership for a reason, and that is to listen to
EVERYBODY. As stated in the past, the Ordai will not become a top heavy and corrupt guild. Not on my watch.
Item 2. Vindicators. Vindicators are the Veterans of the Ordai Vice. To become a vindicator you must become exactly that - A Veteran of the Ordai Vice.
Sigillites can promote Vindicator Juvas to vindicators, and vindicators can earn their rank in a variety of ways, for example:
a. The Mentor - Helping those of lower level in multiple ways, from boosting through instances, to giving advice, to running instances with them on your alts (because you probably will have alts at this stage)
b. The Diplomat - Recuit, recruit, recruit! Serve as the face of the Ordai and bring in new members. This does NOT mean inviting every toon in sight! Remember, your recruits reflect upon you. If you recruit a thief, a griefer or a timewaster, you'll look like you're just recruiting to get promoted. Take care in who you invite.
c. The Raider - Encourage and participate in as many raids with other guild members as you can. Whether 5 man groups, or 25-man raids, either one will show your dedication and determination!
d. The Role Model- RP, RP, RP! Remember that the Ordai Vice is a balanced guild. Mix a good amount of Raid experience with a good sense of RP when you run into other members in game. (I usually try to keep anything said using "/say" in character, as do others.) Contributing to the atmosphere is after all contributing to the success of yourself and the Ordai.
We're on an RP server after all, why not enjoy it?
e. The Over-Achiever - RAMPAGE through that achievements list! Level like a madman! Even a vicious, unyielding drive to be the very best you can be will get you noticed, and it's one of the most time-honoured ways of getting ahead in real life.
f. The Loyalist - stay with the guild for at least one year. While it might not get you promoted on its own, you'll doubtless accomplish some of the other things outlined here and loyalty never did anyone any harm.
The best Vindicator will be someone who does either a little or a lot of everything described here. This is by no means an exhausted list - just a few things I came up with in an afternoon. Generally speaking, just remember that the more spirit you have, the more dedication, the better it will look and the more likely you'll get noticed!
Item 3. Vindicator Juvas. As the standard Member rank, every person entering the Ordai who remains with us for a week or more will automatically be promoted to Vindicator Juva, provided they don't get into trouble with the sigillites or the GS (or even other members of same rank!) and dont turn out to be wannabe thieves or griefers. As stated in the rank system, members who vouch for new recruits (E.G know them in real life, known them in game for years and can testify for their character (their personality, not the toon) or raided with them many times and know them to be consistant, fair and competent) will result in having the new recruit skip Neophyte Rank altogether.
And that's the guide on how to advance within the Ordai Vice. I hope it's been enlightening reading. Have fun, stay sharp and if promotion's on your mind, get out there and earn your laurels!
